About the Visionary and Founder Rev. Dexter Jones

Rev. Dexter A. Jones is a passionate, humble, and encouraging leader of Living the Life Ministries. He believes  1 Corinthians 12:7-11 “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.”

Called to the ministry in 1997, Rev. Jones was licensed to minister the gospel by Rev. Grover and Sarah Mathis and the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, of Brooksfield, GA and ordained under the annointed leadership of Rev. David Johnson, Abundant Life Ministries at New Jerusalem Baptist Church of Adel, GA. There he served in various capacities, overseeing several ministries. Rev. Jones served as the Assistant Pastor from 2002-2007. Rev. Jones relocated to Dallas and joined the Concord Church Dallas and served in various capacities until joining The Potters House Church Dallas.

Rev. Jones has a passion for programs of evangelism, mission and education. His gospel message seeks to address religion’s inability to offer relevance to the changing climate of the times. To this end, he often pushes the envelope to make us question our conventional approaches to daily challenges.  His strong desire to see lives changed has led to a transformational form of leadership in ministry. He no longer sees the preacher as head of an hierarchical system but rather in partnership with administration and laity of the Church. He sees the need for integration and multi-faceted leadership styles and methods to reach the community within and outside of the Church. Rev. Jones believes that it is essential to “live a better sermon than one could ever preach.” He recognizes that everyone is uniquely and wonderfully made by God and encourages them to be who they were created to be. His favorite quote is “I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency”.

Rev. Dexter Jones is married to his life partner and soul mate Felicia Jones. They were married in 2008 and have been serving God and the community faithfully as partners for Christ.
